Television has bring a lot of change for the society. Not only that they can get information from it, but also lifestyle. From Palapa sattelite history, television penetration in Indonesia was designed to welcome Sea Games event, and rise our nationality. By time, television become an industry tool to promote their product. Maybe, if someone asked rather television is productive or consumptive technology, most of us will choose consumptive. And now, what about the internet?
Differently from television, internet allow us to interact actively. We can choose information that we need, and also give information to the net by writing, or up load something that we get in reality. In the same time, if we visit warnet, we can see that most of teenagers open a network site such as Friendster, Multiply etc. and then they pay for it. So, even we can do much variation on the net, the classic question still arise: is it productive or consumptive technology?

It depends on the people that using internet for their needs. But for me, it’s a useful technology for now, tommorow and the future, since we don’t what really happen with internet in the future.
