Qualculation

Can love be quantified? I prefer to answer it with no, although, love can be identified with things that can be quantified, such as the time we spend with our love, things which we gave freely, feelings which we felt when we saw him/her, etc. My thesis can be stated as:

If you love someone/something, than you do things which express your love (quantitative).

Does the statement work oppositely? If you don’t do things which express your love, than you don’t love her/him/it? To answer the question above, Cochoy introduce qualculation, a phrase which belongs to the word qualitative and calculation. The word was used by John Law and Michel Callon to collapses the distinction between qualitative and calculation/quantitative. Unfortunately, the concept can’t give a rigid explanation about love. It can only give us a sense, rather something correlated or not.

Ok, maybe you wonder, what is the correlation between love and technology? The answer is again qualculation. Can a technology be quantified onto several uses, or it depends on the human who used it? Again we found a mapping between mental and material, just as love.
