People who are dangerously in obese now have an option for the obesity solution, instead of gastric surgery. GI Dynamics of Lexington, Massachusetts, now developing an EndoBarrier, an impermeable sleeve in capsule form that inserted via mouth using an endoscope.
Before, it has been tested in animals and successfully reduced weight and rapidly brings type II diabetes under control. This device was designed at its main benefit : simplicity and cheap (low cost).
Hopefully, this finding will be a cheap solution for obese people, since obesity is intimately linked to diabetes, and it is known as one of the most killer to human health.
