A physical therapy is one of the important phase in the recovery process of patients who undergo joint replacement surgery. Usually, this process will take patients away from their bedside health monitors; but a new device is making it possible to safely monitor patients back to health.
ScienceDaily reported that nowadays, surgeons have provided recent joint replacement patients with transmitters to wirelessly check vital signs of on-the-move patients in hallways and send it to the staff. The data sent may include blood pressure, pulse/oxygen, and breathing data.
This is a great invention in the world of medical, I thought. It is written there that the alarms will alert staff to potential problems when patients roam away from their recovery rooms during physical therapy. Of course this will make the patients more comfortable, and ensure the improvement of the therapy they are taking.
