Based on a laboratory study using fresh human fat tissues, researcher from University of Cincinnati (UC) managed to find the implication of toxic plastic to metabolic syndrome in human.
It was clearly stated that adiponectin, a hormon that responsible for regulating insulin sensitivity in the body and puts people at a substantially higher risk for metabolic syndrome.
It is known that metabolic syndrome combination of risk factors that include lower responsiveness to insulin and higher blood levels of sugar and lipids, that is characterized by a group of metabolic risk factors include abdominal obesity, blood fat disorders, elevated blood pressure, insulin resistance or glucose intolerance, etc.
In the online edition of the journal Environmental Health Perspectives, Nira Ben-Jonathan, PhD, and her team said, “These results are especially powerful because we didn’t use a single patient, a single tissue source or a single occurrence. We used different fat tissues from multiple patients and got the same negative response to BPA”
