TomTom—a Global Positioning System’s provider company—launched The Second Edition of TomTom Rider. Of course then, this becomes a good choice in the world of motorcycling.
TomTom Rider now use a far more sensitive than earlier chipsets. As some of you may know, every other TomTom product uses TeleAtlas Map data. With 9 centimeters touch screen, TomTom Rider is easly used while biker uses glove. While the motorcycle is moving, access to menus is restricted. Full access to menus is only available when the motorcycle is at a standstill.
Worry about the weather? Not anymore, since the case is sealed to prevent water ingress with the only connection being the power contacts at the rear which interface with the cradle. Although TomTom do not state a water resistance level rating (Garmin often give IPX Ratings to their devices) they do say in their marketing blurb, “Water resistant and protected against any wet weather conditions (test: TomTom Rider was subjected to a sustained jet of water at high pressure from all directions and suffered no harmful effects)”. This device is powered by Lithium-Ion Battery which could stay alive for 5 hours, 380 MHz Processor and 32MB memory.
But anyway, the price feels chunky expensive. On tomtom.com, it is costs Rp 6.6 million. Wew
